race - 6th place
3rd
race - 5th place
4th
race was a back to back race. The first race was double points
- finished 2nd. Unfortunately in the second race we were disqualified
due to a problem with the muffler points were lost but we did
finish 3rd.
5th
race we finished 2nd after leading all of the laps and getting
caught-up in slow traffic and making a decision to slow down to
avoid hitting another competitor. "That's racing"!!!
6th
race - 2nd place
7th
race - 3rd place
8th
race - 2nd place
9th
race 2nd place

10th race - First win - Dave would win his heat
race and the feature
What
an exciting night this would be.
11th race - Won heat race and finished 6th in feature
This race would prove to be a challenge as new rules were implemented
and as rookies we made a couple mistakes. Although Dave won his
heat race, he would finish the feature in last place, after going
from last to first on two separate occasions and being in first
at the end and thinking he had won. He was disqualified for jumping
the start. "That's Racing"!

12th race - win - Heat and feature
With
track temperatures hovering around 115 degrees and the air so
heavy you can hardly breath, Dave and Jeremy Wicks would prove
to be great competitors on this evening. The two would race side
by side for 2 1/2½ laps showing
incredible driving skill. Their respect for one another was proven
with precise timing and Jeremys track experience.
13th race - WIN
This race would by far be the most enduring one ever! The night
air was crisp and the pits were full of hungry competitors.
All the competitors had enjoyed the past two weeks off and were
eager to get it on!
David found himself in 3rd place during qualifying but would bounce
back to win the feature. When asked how this race compared to
others, he simply said, "this was one of the hardest races
I had ever run. The field was fast and his competitors were dialed,
"this race meant more to me than my first win" "I
view this as a big achievement but will not let my guard down
because all of the drivers have a great deal of talent and next
week could be their week!
14th
race
There were definite signs of the season coming to a close as this
would prove to be an evening of aggressive driving! Dave would
take second in the heat race and round up the night with a respective
3rd in the feature.
15th race Won heat race and finished 2nd in
the feature.
Its a been a LONG season and this race would prove to be
a real gut check.
If a lesson were to be learned, it would be that you should always
believe in yourself and your instincts.
Dave would finish 2nd in the feature after a spirited battle with
Ryan Tally. Bradley Farber would prove to be a very strong competitor
finishing 3rd.
the Daniels Auto Care Team had a great night with Dave finishing
1st in his heat race and 2nd in the feature. Chris in the #18
Stock Medium Class would win his heat and feature race. Ryan Pritt
in the Novice Champ car would finish out the night with a 2nd
place finish in the feature.
Way to go guys!
16th Race - finished
2nd
October 23 was the last race Dave was able to compete in for 2005
although there are a couple race days left on the race schedule.
Dave
started on the outside pole and lead for approximately ten laps
until he was run off into the dirt in turn two and lost a position.
He made a great save, brought the car back on the track and managed
to finish the race in second.
This
race was held on a Sunday and Dave and crew were in a hurry to
get to Old Dominion Speedway to watch the last Legends race of
the year! Therefore "tech inspection" was missed and
2nd place points were lost. Thats Racing!
Next
years race schedule has not yet been determined but Dave will
be making his Legends debut sometime in the summer. He will be
competing with the #34 kart at different tracks, both asphalt
and dirt until he gains enough seat time practicing the Legends
car before racing in actual competition.
Race
wins - heat race and feature - (7)
2nd place finishes heat race and feature - (7)
3rd place finishes - heat race and feature - (4)
All
in all Dave had a great year, he ran competitively, gained respect
from drivers and even managed to win a few races. Not bad for
a rookie!!!
