June 23, 2007 we would travel to Shenandoah Speedway to conquer the track, meet new friends and gain extra seat time and experience.

Shenandoah Speedway is a beautiful 3/8 mile track and the facility is breathtaking!
The view going up the mountain to the track is just as stunning. The track is a 3/8 mile compound banking 12, 10, 8, and 6 degrees in turns 60 feet wide. Straights are 375 feet long with 6 degrees of banking.

The track would introduce us to a new style of time trials. Instead of lining up and driving individually to be timed, we would run in groups and our fastest time would be used to determine our start in the race.

Dave had only practiced once at this track before starting tonight's race. Unfortunately, we missed the setup on the car, and were told after the race that we were running the wrong gear. These incidents hampered Dave's ability to keep up with the competition.

Dave showed a lot of poise and allowed the drivers to compete for points at their hometown track. He started in a field of 16 cars and would wind out the night finishing 12th.

We look forward to returning to Shenandoah and hopefully, give them boys a run for their money.
