Mini Modified
Old Dominion Speedway - 8-14-2010

Dave would finish 3rd in tonight's event. We are looking at the big picture and trying to save our car and driver.

Dave and veteran driver Bobby Able would run a spirited race until Able encountered problems and would have to pull into the pits.

With only two races to go, our focus is to finish in one piece. Our competitors are tough and we know that winning will not be easy, but hopefully true NASCAR sportsmanship will come into play, and settle some drivers down.

One Mini Modified veteran driver approached us and said he realized we were in the hunt for the championship and he was not going to get in our way. While every driver on the track wants to win, most realize that they do not want to interfere with a championship. They know one day, they may be in the same position, and would want the same respect given to them. One competitor put it best when he said the following. "I am sizing everyone up, taking mental notes, and viewing what I may encounter next year!"
While local, short track stock car racing continues to thrive across the country and fans have their favorites. Most thrive on clean competitive racing, which showcase the skills of their drivers.

Congratulations to Mike Carte for tonight's win.

Veteran Mike Carte led flag-to-flag, taking home his 2nd win in 2010, beating Pete Green and point leader Dave Daniels to the stripe in the 25 lap Mini Modified feature. Green, who had led all qualifiers for the 4 cylinder division with a 17.51 lap in his G2 Motorsports Ford, put up a valiant effort throughout the event, but came up just a car length short at the end. Daniels made an attempt to take over the second spot from Green on the final lap but was squeezed up into the fence at the stripe, and had to settle for third for his worst finish in 2010. With his win, Carte gained 4 valuable points on Daniels, and now is just 16 points behind with 2 events remaining.
