Today's temps were hot and steamy. The air was heavy and filled with moisture, which made it uncomfortable all day.

The #34 would encounter another hard night of racing where the first few laps would determine its fate for the evening.

Early in the race, coming out of turn four there was an incident that caused two cars to wreck. Dave would be collected in the wreck as the cars came down the track and he had no where to go.

Our pit crew, along with the help of others, quickly went to work on the #34 machine. Dave drove for several laps before the car just gave out. The water temps were climbing and the car's ill handling, forced him to make his final pit stop of the evening on lap 47. This incident would mark the first DNF (did not finish) for Dave in years! It was a heartbreaker.

After final evaluation of the extent of damage, we have determined that we will miss the next race.
Look for the #34 to return in the Joe Gibbs Youth Of Tomorrow Race on July 23rd. We hope to see you then.
