Tonight's race would represent
hard racing, which resulted in Dave finishing second.
Dave would pass the #71
on the first lap. Car #44 was in the lead and Dave would take
his first peek on the inside on lap 11. On lap 15, Dave would
start to make the pass in turns one and two; they drove side by
side down the back straight-a-way, going into turns three and
four, where Dave would take the lead. Going into turn one, Dave
would get tapped, and around he went. He would come from the back
of the field and finish 2nd.
Bobble Able showed up at the speedway
just minutes before the green flag waved, suited up, started last
in the field, and wound up in victory lane in the 25 lap Mini
Modified feature. As the race played out, it was Mike Carte and
Dave Daniels battling it out for the top spot with Carte holding
off a determined Daniels. However, as those two battled, Able
was slowly making his way into the picture. The halfway signal
was given, and things began to heat up. Daniels nudged his way
to the front, but Carte was not finished. The veteran went back
for the top spot, both cars got together and spun in turn one.
This handed the lead to Able, who had a large enough lead to hold
off a charging Daniels. Carte came back to finish third, while
Todd Johnston and Keith Riley rounded out the top five.
