Dave Daniels Legends Driver of the Ty, Daniels Auto Care, Amsoil car!

This car has been rebuilt and now is sporting white fenders
rather than the yellow ones.

Today’s temps would be the worst so far this season! The sun was scorching down on us at 96 degrees and the dew points were in the 80’s, it felt like a steam bath. The air in the pits was heavy and made it difficult to breath.

Track conditions were worrisome, as the track shined, which indicated it was slick. These conditions were verified during practice as many of the drivers had difficulty handling their cars. Dave would run two good practice runs and time trials would once again place him on the front row of the race.

Dave in the lead on the first lap!

`
Roger Austin in the lead, David Polenz in 2nd, and Dave Daniels in 3rd place!

Dave in the Ty 04 car in 4th place.

Dave would start the race on the outside pole and was passed by Roger Austin Jr. half way down the straight-a-way. He would maintain 2nd place for 2 ½ laps until he was passed by two front runners and fell back into the 4th place position. Unfortunately, on lap 7 there would be an incident on the track that would take out one of the front runners, pushing Dave back into the 3rd position. Dave maintained his 3rd place position for 13 laps and was pulling the field. Dave would then get loose in turn one, and had a miraculous save, which allowed Matt Cannon the opportunity to pass him clean. Dave would go on to finish in 4th place.

Dave would run his fastest times ever, clocking in at 17.35

The pits were hopping after tonight’s race.
The following fans visited our trailer after the race to talk with Dave and sit in the 04 car. The kids were given goodie bags that contained a Ty Beanie, stat card on Dave and a couple other surprises.

"David was making it real hard at the end," Austin said. "But it's our sister car so that was good."
Polenz was second, Matt Cannon third, Dave Daniels fourth and Davey Callihan fifth.
"It was great to come in second," Polenz said. "This is where we wanted to be."
