Tonight's race would prove
to be one of the hardest races of the year.
Temps hovered around 105, with a heat index of 110 degrees.
Dave was tonight's pole sitter. After the invert, he would start the race in the 5th position.
Dave would use the entire track to get around his competitors. His line would change often. While charging to the front, he passed the #71 car on the second lap. He then went on the outside of car #44 for a pass on lap four. The track was slick and cars were swerving all over, Dave felt the need to get around them, fearing there would be an incident. He made his move on lap six in turn one and got around car #11 for second place. He then set his sights on car #2. On lap eight he passed car #2 for the lead. He led for the remainder of the race, with car #11 close behind.
Dave Daniels took command with a bold move, and won his 6th feature in 2010 in the Mini Modified 25 lap feature. Running second, he made slight contact with early leader Pete Green, and took the top spot after Green slid up the track in turn one. Once out in front, Daniels had everything in control, and finished 2 cars lengths ahead of Green at the end. Veteran Mike Carte held on for third, while Keith Riley and Kevin Davis rounded out the top 5.
