#34 Ford Fusion takes the win at Old Dominion Speedway in Manassas, VA -

The best way to sum up tonight’s race can be said in two words
Misfortune and capitalization.

The two front runners Scotty Gore and Paul Green would be plagued with misfortune and Dave would capitalize on it for his first visit to victory lane.

Drivers took the green flag out of turn four and Dave drove like his life depended on it. Mike, his father, crew chief and spotter, would keep him updated throughout the race of the whereabouts of the #11 car driven by Paul Green. Paul had broken the track record earlier that day during time trials, and had he not encountered a problem with his car, he and Dave could have been neck and neck in tonight's race!

Father and son, a winning combination!

Dave's consistency paid off this evening and he seized
his first Mini Modified WIN of the 2009 season.

Dave encountered an altercation coming out of turn two with another car that obviously was not aware of Dave's presence on the track. Dave squeezed as low as he could go, putting two ties in the grass as the car came down on him. The #34 Ford Fusion suffered body damage, which cut into his tire, as well as having the toe knocked out. Further assessment is needed.

A special thanks to the #11 team for their pit assistance throughout the day and for their sportsmanship.

In Mini Stocks, Dave Daniels captured his first win in the division in only his fifth outing. Daniels qualified second and started fourth and passed Keith Riley in the first lap, taking the lead until the checkers.

"It felt pretty incredible to win," Daniels said. "We just had the most consistent car tonight."

Early on, Scotty Gore blew an engine, which ended his night. And Paul Green had a sway bar break off. But Green managed to come back to second after pitting briefly. Keith Riley was third, Kevin Davis fourth and Joe Riley fifth.
